Laura Schmidt - 1st Runner-Up
1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
As a mother of a spunky one year old, I’m inspired daily to be the best version of myself for my little family. In my son’s short time on earth, he has to taught me to love harder, live more freely, and go through life without regret. There is a reason why God blessed me as a mother and I could not be more grateful for the responsibility and honor!
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
My husband and I tend to put ourselves second to our son, because let’s face it… toddlers are busy! So, my “perfect” day would be to spent with my son reading his favorite books and going on a long family walk. That night, trusting that my son stays asleep, my husband and I would sit down on the couch and watch every episode of The Big Bang Theory while eating our favorite guilty pleasures.
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
My parents raised me to live by the motto, “There is always someone struggling out there more than you, so lend a hand and give back!” Making a difference doesn’t just happen by chance so I know I must be intentional in my actions. Whether I’m continuing my 18-year relationship serving Ronald McDonald House Charities or simply buying someone a much-needed coffee, I’m on a mission to make a difference everyday.
4.What is the most random fact you know?
I wear the most treasured item in my home every day. This item is a sacred military bracelet in memory of my good friend, Jonam. He died serving our country and defending our freedom. This bracelet signifies his sacrifice as well as the camaraderie we have for each other as brothers and sisters in arms. Every time I look at it, it reminds me of his beaming smile and the selflessness he always exuded.
